OK
heres the problem

i have two computers and a cable modem
my own computer is running with win xp pro
and the other with win xp home

my computer contacts the modem and the other comp is connected to mine

so i set up a lan-network nice and easy and make a networkbridge
problem is that the internal network is ok
but i just cant get the second computer to contact the internet
i know i have done the good settings
it has been on internet but then the day after when i restarted it wasnt anymore
after bullshitting alot it was so that when i first started the second computer and then my own the inet was ok
but that wasnt the case anymore later on

the ip and dns and everything was fixed and there hasnt been a new lease from the modem

i think i need to setup ip routing for windows server but i dont know how
its all on auto detect

:D This story is very vague i know but can anybody help me out:D
Rep points for anybody who does

ps
please no anti windows comments from linuxusers

windows asks you to run setup or make a disk to run on the other computer did you do that? i have a router myself, it makes a huge difference. the added benefits are well worth the small amount you pay.

other things you could try with both computer on. run the ipconfig tools through the command line on the "home" computer.

Yeah, for the money a router is by far the best option. It takes all the load from the PC running as the ICS server and just makes life sooo much easier. :D
