You've already seen mine (http://www.jaketo.f2s.com/pc/3.jpg) ;)
No real hardcore modding as such, more just buying all the bits and putting them altogether.
(Although I did change the light in the PSU, mod the case for the UV switches, cut a few things to make it all fit, sleeve a lot of the cables, etc etc etc.)
My one tip for hardcore modding would be to buy a Dremel :D

you could make your own case out of wood :p
you'll have to make a way to make it fire-safe

Was thinking making a window for the top chamber, with Acryl just for show. (With a CCFL on the side to give the acryl some sorta light effect)
And make a window on each side for the bottom chamber with MeshX so my watercooling in the bottom chamber can "breath" abit..

I actually did make a PC case from wood once, about 12 years ago, before it was possible to just pop down to your local shop and buy one.
It was a necessity rather than choice as I had a desktop with a badly broken case, and it looked truly awful, like a badly beaten cargo crate, but it worked :D

Any of you use a program to draw/plan your mods? @_@

Hehe a friend of mine modded his computer so it had 2 overclocked processors, but it got to warm so he had to install 3 "huge" fans to cool it, but then it got too noisy so he had to put the whole thing into a large wooden box with cooling.
:P
So much for his cheap way of getting his computer like 3% faster :P

Probably gonna cut in TeamxSunnYx between the 2 windows and but UV Blue acrylic with CCFL behind it.

I did once try to design a modded PC using AutoCAD (I was a CAD engineer at the time) but frankly I was spending more time on getting the drawing right than actually modding the PC :)
Usually a rough sketch and scribbles in a notebook is about as far as I go now.

I had autoCAD a few years back, didn't really get it all tho. But this SketchUp thingy is kinda easier for em to work with :)
EDIT :

Tested my watercooling and installed all components.
Opteron 170 2Ghz @ 2,8Ghz / 1,425vCore
idle: 32C
load: 38C
Way better than aircooling.. (49-51 on load)
Bought a diamondcutting disc for my dremel today, gonna start cutting my sidepanel next week =)

I'm going to have to get a pic of mine, since mine happens to be the centerpiece of a sort of zen garden I have going... I completely got rid of the metal case, and now its got a waterfall (well contained) going over the motherboard.
Dont ask, I happen to be a bit on the nuts side, I guess.
OTOH, I have to figure out a good place to stick the 2 DVD-RWs since they need to be accessed often. Right now, they are sitting on the floor.

Erm when the ice evaporates it will leave a condensate on the parts which will dry and cause the parts to die. My friend did this and his PC just went *boom*.
