Photosynth - The next wave

Honestly, this has got to be one of the more intriguing things I've seen on the tech side of things. I'm not sure precisely what this will mean, but it is exciting anyway. I'll let the video do the explaining.

Good find Mags. If anyone's curious you can go play with it here (http://labs.live.com/photosynth/). It will need an ActiveX control to install first though, and lots of bandwidth.

thx jake...I'd like to see this actually play out do they plan to just have all the pictures on their database or what...I watched the video and can't figure out how this program will access *everybodys* photos...regardless very nifty though besides being fun to play with I can't see this being very productive?

I can imagine this being a great tool for reconstructing crime scenes, an excellent way to show houses that are for sale, setting up a visual of interstates, and so on.

Also, if a large group of people were out and about at a large event, it would be possible to combine pictures and give a neat view. I'm sure there are other ways this could be applied, but I'm not sure. I doubt that it will link the entire world's pics, Smoran. But, who knows? Overall, I can find this becoming a neat tool for people to play with. Anyone else have any ideas?
