Hello,
I have a problem whith Windows Live Messenger... There is a way to unblock the extensions when someone send me a file on messenger? Each time when my friends try to send me a mp3 files and when i try to open the file, Windows Xp delete the song "Windows have found a dangeous file and it as been deleted" I read on some forum than Microsoft have put this protection since the Windows Xp SP2...

best option is to get whoever is sending you it to zip it. to do that, right click the file, and select send to -> compressed (zipped) folder. you can also change the settings in WLM, go to options, file transfers, and untick automatically reject .... You should also add your antivirus program to it using scan using.

This is the problem... There is no stick on the WLM transfert options...
I think it was the service pack 2 of Windows Xp cause this problem...

From within WLM -
Select 'Tools', and then click 'Options'.
In the left pane, click 'File Transfer'.
Clear the 'Automatically reject file transfers for known unsafe file types' check box.
Click 'OK'.
Also make sure however that 'Scan files for viruses using:' is checked and pointing at your antivirus software.

I check the box and pointed to my anti-virus software and i still have this damn error!

just get your freind to zip it first, should also make it a bit smaller so will send faster.

If all else fails in messenger, you could just have your friend attach it to an email.

I just found a software to unblock all extensions. Windows Live Messenger don't block anymore files now :D!!! I can get any files now :)
This was a preview if the ReadMe file...
This very simple program will add the following extensions as LowRiskFileTypes,
allowing them to be received in MSN.

The actual key being altered is:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Associations
If someone whant the software, PM me... There a program to add this to the registry... No manual things...
But beware... when you accept files when you install this key....
