Windows Xp SP3

Hello guys :)

Maybe all of you can't answer me because must of people have Vista so... I have seen today, Microsoft release the SP3 on Windows Update for Windows Xp and i whant to know if i install now the pack if i can have some compatibility problems and some others things whith my programs and softwares...

The main driver for MS in releasing SP3 for XP is because many companies are refusing to move to Vista, and SP3 will include predominantly new functionalities for use in a commercial network, such as interoperabilty with Windows Server 2008.

To quote MS - 'Windows XP SP3 includes all previously released updates for the operating system, in addition to a small number of new updates. For home users, don't expect any noticeable difference.

Thx jaketo, im thinking when i install the SP3, i will experience some problems like when Microsoft release the SP2. A lot of program and softwares stop working after install the pack (Sp2)

Well, I think if there's nothing too different about SP3, I don't think I'll download it until I start seeing some of the reviews for it (after a few months so they can work out the bugs =/ )

I think you will need to install soon or Microsoft will stop the support of SP2 soon like the SP1....

i don't remember any issues with SP2 i remember downloading things that needed it, but not issues with compatability with it itself. I been told that SP3 is going to make the system use memory more efficiently in PRO. but thats just something i heard.

Update :

I install the Sp3 and all run perfectely! All softwares and programs run like the SP2!

I see some performance. Applications run abit more faster...

sp3 works fine for me, except for my videos.
sound but no picture.
DRMed I s'pose
If anyone knows a work around let me know.

What is the extention of the video you are trying to see?

Got it fixed.
Set videolan to work on OpenGl.
It was one of those play with the options untill you either fix it or f**k it things.

I still don't see any performance changes =/ haha

they said that many of the people who are experiencing bugs/crashes are those running with AMD processors

I have an AMD Athlon 64X Dual Core 2.1Ghz and i don't have any problem and crash. Maybe sometimes, the problems people have was personnal.
